It takes courage and hard work to take care of premature babies and see them growing healthy. Most mothers do not get the support of their husbands due to either they are no longer still around or the husbands abandoned them after giving birth to premature babies since preterm babies come with very huge responsibilities or considered it a curse to have a premature baby. These mothers find themselves struggling to keep their preemies alive on their own. Our work does not stop at the hospital. From the hospitals, we do follow up these mothers to their homes and we do regular home visits, helping them to safely transition from the hospitals to taking care of their babies at home. We teach them what do to in the absence of nurses and the incubators. We continue doing these home visits until the new babies are strong enough and their mothers are in a strong position to take care of the babies on their own.
